THOR OPENS IN WINNING

The Hollywood Reporter says that Thor opened in 1,800 locations at midnight in North America and earned $3.25 million. The movie is now playing domestically in 3,955 theaters and is projected to earn over $60 million this weekend.
The comic book adaptation has already reached $125 million internationally.
Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo, Stellan Skarsgard, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Josh Dallas, Tadanobu Asano, Idris Elba, Clark Gregg, Colm Feore and Samuel L. Jackson.
