Although Michael Caine previously said that the actors would get the script for The Dark Knight Rises in January, Christopher Nolan is turning it into Warner Bros. Pictures today (Monday). Variety associate features editor and tech reporter David S. Cohen posted this funny Tweet:
Chris Nolan told me his The Dark Knight Rises script is due Monday or he's in big trouble. Big trouble? What can they do? Fire him?
This should give the studio plenty of time to look it over and ask for any revisions. Caine had said that they would start shooting in May and finish in November. It seems likely that will still be the case.
The studio has set a July 20, 2012 release date for The Dark Knight Rises.
