Demi Lovato Will Not Be In 'The Avengers'

THR is clearing up the rumors that Demi Lovato, was going to be in Marvel's "The Avengers."

The original story came from the newsite Radar Online "was up for a role," but that quickly went to "she's in it" pretty darn quickly.

Lovato's people have confirmed that there is no truth to this story and the actress is that she’s currently in rehab “for emotional and physical issues.”

With this story making waves, it could mean that Marvel is looking for another female actress for the upcoming movie but nothing has been rumored or confirmed as of yet.

HAWKEYE IS IN THE THOR MOVIE!

Despite Jeremy Renner denying rumors that he would make a cameo appearance in Thor as as Hawkeye, The Wrap is now reporting that the character does indeed have a scene in the film.

Renner has long since been confirmed to be playing the character in The Avengers, but, if the rumor plans out, a Thor cameo would mean that fans would get to see Clint Barton on the big screen a year in advance of that film's May 4, 2012 release. Though nothing is confirmed at this time, the role would likely a similar tease as that of Samuel L. Jackson's appearance as Nick Fury in the original Iron Man.

YOUNG JUSTICE TO PREMIERE JANUARY 7

Cartoon Network has announced that it's upcoming "Young Justice" series will have its series premiere on January 7th at 7pm (ET/PT). Based on both the "Young Justice" series that ran in the late 90's and the modern "Teen Titans" team, "Young Justice" was previewed in an hourlong special that aired on November 26th. The ongoing series is officially described as follows:

In Young Justice, being a teenager means proving yourself over and over — to peers, parents, teachers, mentors and, ultimately, to yourself. But what if you're not just a normal teenager? What if you're a teenage super hero? How much harder will it be to prove yourself in a world of super powers, super villains and super secrets? Are you ready to come of age in such a world? Are you ready for life or death rites of passage? Are you ready to join the ranks of the great heroes and prove you're worthy of the Justice League? That's exactly what the members of Young Justice — Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis — will found out … whether they have what it takes to be a proven hero.

Heather Morris Confirms She Is Considered For 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' Reboot

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Heather Morris announced that she is being considered for a theatrical reboot of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

“They’re considering me!” Heather said. “I found out and I almost peed my pants ‘cause I was so excited!”

“If they make [‘Buffy’] when [‘Glee’] is on hiatus, I don’t even care what I do,” Heather laughed. “I can just run through the shot and do nothing – even if I’m not Buffy!”

NEW SUPERMAN MOVIE TO SHOOTING IN VANCOUVER

While this is not confirmed, The Globe and Mail is reporting that the Zack Snyder-directed Superman movie will be filmed in Vancouver:
“[Zack Snyder’s] next feature’s coming here,” said Peter Leitch, chair of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of BC and president of North Shore Studios and Mammoth Studios.
Leitch would not name Superman: Man of Steel as the film in question, but a source has confirmed that the next film in the Superman franchise will be shot in Vancouver next year, with production likely beginning in the summer.
Warner Bros. Pictures is planning a December 2012 release for the film, for which no cast has been announced yet. David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan wrote the script.

CHRIS EVANS TALKS CAPTAIN AMERICA

Chris Evans recently talked to Wizard Magazine about taking on the role of Captain America. Thanks to The Daily BLAM!, here are some of the highlights from the interview:

Comic book fans are particularly protective of Captain America. He is after all supposed to be the physical and moral pinnacle of humanity. Does that shield feel heavy under all that pressure?

"As far as the physicality goes, that comes from the serum, and I think special effects will help me carry the load. As far as who he is as a man, the reason he's chosen for this experiment is because he has a pure heart. It's the morality, the nobility. He's a real redeeming character to play, it's exciting to think of playing him. I actually have a friend of mine who I'm modeling the character after. This guy is actually an Eagle Scout, he's one of those guys who stayed in the Boy Scouts all the way until he was 18. He's just a good human being. He does the right things, he's open, he's honest, he's sincere, he's selfless. It's something that I think everyone aspires to. A lot of time I play characters who don't have any redeeming quality [Laughing]."

But when the casting was announced, there was positive and negative reaction. Did you keep an eye on the comments?

"I can understand if fans are wondering. That's okay. I'm obviously taking their concerns to consideration, but I can't get too swept into it, otherwise I'll start beating myself up and losing my confidence."

Besides Captain America, you also played the Human Torch in "Fantastic Four," and "The Losers" is also based on a comic; have you had any close encounters with rabid fans?

"It's great so far, They're so enthusiastic. They want the product [to be] as good as you want the project to be. These guys live and die for it. It reminds you why you make these movies. These people want it to be good so desperately, that you so desperately want to give them what they're looking for..."

Opening in 3D and 2D theaters on July 22, the Joe Johnston-directed adaptation also stars Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving, Sebastian Stan, Toby Jones, Samuel L. Jackson, Dominic Cooper, Tommy Lee Jones, Stanley Tucci and Neal McDonough.

Wonder Woman TV Series Not Coming Soon?

Back in October, it was announced that "Wonder Woman" was heading back to TV in a series from writer/producer David E. Kelley. Now, however, Kelley tells Zap2it that it might be a while before it becomes a real project:
"There's no real deal in place yet, but yeah, my intent is to take a stab at it," Kelley said. "I've been working on it between scripts for 'Harry's Law.' It's a very, very different genre for me, a very tricky beast. I won't know whether I've cracked it or not until I've finished it, but it's going."

He added thtat "I haven't necessarily committed to doing it yet. I'm at the point where I'm trying to figure out if I can make the franchise work for me."

Still, it doesn't sound like it will be moving full speed ahead any time soon. "The only way I'm truly going to discover if ['Wonder Woman'] is right for me, and I'm right for it, is to roll my sleeves up and close the door and do some work. And that's a challenge, because it's kind of a busy time."

NEW VENOM!

Most recently, Mac Gargan has served as host to the Venom symbiote, but Amazing Spider-Man writer Dan Slott has confirmed in interviews that the character will soon return to his Scorpion persona. Eddie Brock, the original Venom, was rechristened as "Anti-Venom" in 2008's "New Ways to Die" story arc.
The new Venom is scheduled to debut in February's Amazing Spider-Man #654.1, part of Marvel's new reader-courting "Point One" initiative. The identity of the new Venom remains a mystery, but prevalent fan speculation has centered around supporting character Vin Gonzales.
In a November interview with Newsarama, Remender stated, "There is an unannounced project at Marvel that I’m pretty excited about. It’s a big character that has been cooled off for a while. Marvel has a great strategy in terms of a lot of the time they’ll cool a character off so people are clamoring for it, and then they’ll re-launch. I’m fortunate enough to be entrusted with that, so I’m currently working on the outline for that with some very exciting classic Marvel characters."

More, including concept art by Moore, can be found in Marvel.com's article announcing the series.
Marvel's official press release follows:
Venom is back with an all-new mission and all-new human host, but just what does this mean for the Marvel Universe? Find out in Venom #1, kicking off a new ongoing series from red-hot creators Rick Remender (Uncanny X-Force) & Tony Moore (Frankencastle), with major repercussions for Spider-Man! In this shocking direction for everyone’s favorite symbiote, the government now has Venom as their own Spider-Man, complete with a new look and new mission—eliminate threats to America as a covert agent. But can anyone control the destructive force of Venom? And just who is the man behind the mask?

Batman: Arkham City Teaser Trailer

The Green Lantern Easter Eggs You Won't See Next Summer

Though you'll finally get to see Hal Jordan taking the lead in a live-action feature film next summer, there were a few surprises written into the Green Lantern script that, sadly, never made it to production. MTV Splash Page had a chat with writer Marc Guggenheim about some of the cool things that won't be hitting the big screen in 2011.

First up, a long-rumored Clark Kent cameo was, indeed, written into the script, but dropped after several drafts. Likewise, Guggenheim confirms one member of the Green Lantern Corps who will not be appearing is Ch'p, the furry squirrel-like member from the planet H'Iven.

Neverthless, Guggenheim promises a great many inside jokes for the die-hard fan and, having seen "a fair amount" of the film, has nothing but praise for the final product.
Green Lantern hits both 2D and 3D theaters on June 17, 2011.

Emma Stone Goes Blonde for Gwen Stacy!

Update: More Superman Concept Art Revealed

Steve Johnson, the visual effects master behind countless cinematic projects, revealed today via his Facebook page concept art for Bryan Singer's Superman Returns and, potentially, for its unproduced sequel.
Johnson, who just recently unveiled behind the scenes photos from his Superman Lives work, is a bit vague on the details, specifying only that the below images were for a Bryan Singer film. Though the Superman designs may have been a pitch for the 2006 film, there is also speculation that the costume could actually be for either a revamped costume in the sequel or for a villain, the Eradicator. The final image is clearly a version of Doomsday, indicating either a direction for the sequel or a radically different plan for Superman Returns.

this is probably for the J.J. Abrams-scripted Superman Flyby instead - a project that was dropped before Superman Returns.

Nolan Turns in The Dark Knight Rises Script on Monday

Although Michael Caine previously said that the actors would get the script for The Dark Knight Rises in January, Christopher Nolan is turning it into Warner Bros. Pictures today (Monday). Variety associate features editor and tech reporter David S. Cohen posted this funny Tweet:
Chris Nolan told me his The Dark Knight Rises script is due Monday or he's in big trouble. Big trouble? What can they do? Fire him?
This should give the studio plenty of time to look it over and ask for any revisions. Caine had said that they would start shooting in May and finish in November. It seems likely that will still be the case.
The studio has set a July 20, 2012 release date for The Dark Knight Rises.

DC's Raven To Replace Smallville

Raven, the Teen Titans character, is currently being looked at for the focus of a live-action television series akin to Smallville, Variety reports. A half-human, half-demon, Raven came to the mortal world at age 16 and took the name Rachel Roth, becoming a member of the Teen Titans. Clad in a purple hood, Raven has the ability to mentally project and teleport her soul away from her body as well as make use of empathic powers to read other beings minds.
Though it's still in the very early stages, Raven is being eyed as a potential replacement for Smallville, which is set to go off the air when it completes its tenth and final season in 2011.

Harvey Dent/Two-Face will not be appearing in The Dark Knight Rises

Aaron Eckhart confirmed once and for all to MTV that Harvey Dent/Two-Face will not be appearing in The Dark Knight Rises, which he says "is going to blow everybody away."

"Chris and I had a meeting, on the beach, just the two of us," Eckhart said. "I said, 'Chris, a lot of people are asking me if I'm in the next 'Batman.' And Chris said, 'Yes?' I said, 'Am I?' He looked at me and he said, 'No.'" He added that he wasn't joking about the beach part and said that they "found ourselves alone on the beach together on a stormy day and he delivered the news to me. I was heartbroken. But Chris has his reasons and my life must go on... Honestly, it was Heath's movie to go on. We had a great movie. I'm so honored to be a part of that movie."

THE NEW SPIDER-MAN MOVIE GETS A VILLIAN?

Heat Vision reports that Campbell Scott and Julianne Nicholson will play Peter Parker'sparents in Columbia Pictures' new Spider-Man movie, while Irrfan Khan (Slumdog Millionaire) is in talks to play a villain named "Van Atter." Could it be Nels Van Adder, who becomes Proto-Goblin (more info here)?
Van Adder volunteered to become a test subject for a chemical developed by Mendel Stromm and Norman Osborn. He acquired enhanced strength, fangs, and clawed hands and feet.
Annie Parisse ("Rubicon") will play the villain's wife.

They are joining the previously-announced Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen and Denis Leary, while Sally Field has still not been confirmed.

Shooting is starting this month in Los Angeles under the direction of Marc Webb for a release date on July 3, 2012.
